- "Think fast!"
Isaac fires a stasis shot, freezing any one nearby opponent, then begins charging his Plasma Cutter. If immediately fired, Isaac can take out the one opponent frozen in stasis. However, Isaac can also freely aim his Plasma Cutter and fire at other opponents. The longer the Cutter is charged, the larger the resulting explosion will be when it is fired.
Strategic Shot can be used to it's maximum efficiency during team battles. The Stasis strike allows Isaac to set up an easy kill for his teammate while he uses the free aim to attempt to surprise and kill the other team's second member, allowing for a potential double kill if properly coordinated.
The move is much riskier in 1v1 or Free-For-All- it has a few seconds of start up, leaving Isaac potential vulnerable, and he can be struck out of the attack at any point- as it can last a long time before a kill is made, especially if the shot is being charged. Opponents are also able to roll out of the way of both the Stasis shot and the Plasma Cutter strike, so precautions should be taken to attempt to catch unaware foes or opponents locked in mid-animation to maximize damage output. it should be noted that the online sometimes will mess up the aiming, resulting in a miss or a lucky hit.
The Plasma Cutter and the Stasis Module both make their debuts in the original Dead Space, and are recurring weapons throughout the series.
